ABOUT ME
3D and 2D Artist (excuse me while I babble on)
I have always been an avid gamer and artist at heart. Because of my love of gaming from good old days of the Atari 2600, I've always had a passion for learning what makes games tick and an even greater compulsion to be creative. Conceptual design, illustration, 2D and 3D in-game assets, texturing, environmental design layouts, gameplay mechanics, I enjoy dipping my fingers in each little piece of the pie.

I've been fortunate enough to work in the games industry since 2007 and I would be the first one to admit that there's still so much I can learn. Before working in the industry I did a little stint as a freelance Graphic Designer after completing a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design. During my time as a traditional Graphic Designer I was able to learn about the importance of compositional design, visual language, colour ranges, client requirements and delivering quality design materials within tight deadlines.

To this day, I still strive to use these skills in all my work, either it be for personal creative pieces or for published gaming titles. I believe that traditional art values with intelligent design can often make-or-break the functionality or creativeness of any given asset, especially within a gaming environment. Like a beautiful fine art painting or a modern day website, the overall composition and layout of an environment scene is essential, and I love being a part of the process. I even enjoy ensuring that my work is structured and organised to make the pipeline process better for others I'm fortunate to work with.

During my time in the games industry, I have worked on characters, props, terrain environments, vehicles, concept illustrations, pipeline documentation, R&D research presentations, level design and Outsource management documentation. As the the industry continues to evolve I have demonstrated the ability to adapt to changing development requirements and the necessity of outsource development processes.

Outsource assets and it's management have become increasingly essential for the growth of the games industry, but one I recognise and have helped steer in the right direction. While I'm capable of creating quality in-game assets, I have learned to adapt and manage other exceptional artists to help produce in-game assets to the high standards this industry often requires. To this end, I have demonstrated a willingness to adapt to the needs of a project and show leadership when required. I enjoy the challenge of getting to know others. I enjoy learning skills and limitations of others and adapting mine to fuse better with others, learning some new tricks in the the process.

Anyway, enough from me. Please enjoy the few examples of my industry and personal portfolio. I hope to keep getting better at what I do and to I hope to be fortunate to share these skills onto other like-minded souls. Thanks for your time :)
